As usual for this race, no points, just bragging rights. Place your picks for the Shootout at Daytona!

A couple things to go over for this year... same scoring system as before... 10 points for each pick plus 25 points for the winner.

5 picks regular season, 7 picks during the Chase.

The races we make picks for that count for points are all points races. No points for the Clash (Shootout), All Star Challenge or other series races (Prelude, ARCA, Nationwide, Trucks, etc).

I have a very busy season ahead of me so it'll likely be huntr and hd20 who score the points since they'll likely be at a computer before me... because I'll pretty much be busy at all times.

If anyone has any suggestions to make this better for everyone, now's the time to submit them.

By the way, there has been a lot of talk lately about civil speech and being nice to each other. The President says we should tone down the rhetoric. The media suggests we should all talk to each other with respect. Other sports league commissioners says we should handle winning with humility and losing with grace.

Well, in my league, civil speech is discouraged. If you want to talk sh!t, talk sh!t.

In other words, to quote Robin Pemberton: "Boys, have at it!" :buddies:

I just hope it's an exciting season that comes down to Miami. I'm sick of blowing y'all out :killingme

So what racing plans do you have this year?

So far, I'm looking at all the big races at Old Dominion Speedway Manassas, Langley Speedway when I'm in Virginia for Spring Break, ARCA race at the New Jersey Motorsports Park road course, and maybe North Wilkesboro in June.

Suggestion for thought :buddies: . We will have 4 NON POINT races during the season , how about keeping a point scoring tally for those 4 races and the TOTAL POINT WINNER after the All Star race , recieve a 25 point bonus ! This will keep interest and particapation in those races as well as bragging rights. :whistle:

I want to think of a way for people who might join late to be able to contend if they're consistent ("The Wildcat97 Rule"), but I hate points resets (like NASCAR's Chase or NHRA's Countdown) because they pretty much purge all of your accomplishments during the season.

A playoff would make things exciting, but again, see above.

That's why I don't do NASCAR. If I do the ARCA race at NJMP and UARA at North Wilkesboro, it'll be because the website I'm working for covers the expenses at least in part.

The second half of the racing season is more complicated because I'm moving to Pisgah. Likely still ODS, maybe Baltimore in August, and maybe some Potomac Speedway dirt track racing.

:coffee: Maybe a 100 pt Bonus for picking Coca-Cola 600 Winner if joining AFTER Food City 500 March 20 or 200 Pt bonus for picking Brickyard Winner if joining AFTER Brickyard 400 31 July OR maybe correctly picking 3 out of 5 ,for those races :whistle: I would hate to see any late comers overcome any one whom started at the beginning :popcorn:

I don't know how effective that would be, but nothing short of a playoff would be effective... and I don't want to do that.

I mean, even if they come in as hot as Wildcat did, I don't know if anything would be effective. Wildcat got hot and knocked 50 points each week but fizzled out. And at times, you and OldFart got hot as well.

I sucked most of year ! If I had thought more clearly I would have challenged you or at least finished 2nd :whistle:

I say let it be ! If someone wants to get in late so be it , they have to try harder to compete like I did my 1st year or like WildCat 97 last year.
