Keep Calm and Don't Care!
I like it myself and I think we've got a near perfect system worked out (took forever to get it there though), but at the same time, the excitement's missing.
Let's be honest for a second, unless something disastrous happens to me or HD20/OldGuy manufacture a miracle, in this Chase, this is pretty much over well before Homestead. That, and I'd like to see people who join late have a shot at it if they do well, thus encouraging this league to grow.
So here's what I'm proposing for next season.
A) After the Richmond Fall Race, points reset (everyone has 2,000 points). Those within 250 points or top five enter the Chase. After race 5, 5th place is eliminated and the top 4 are reset. After race 7, 4th place is eliminated and the top 3 are reset. After race 9, 3rd place is eliminated and the top 2 are reset for a one race showdown.
B) After Richmond, the points are reset for the whole field. 1st place has 100 points, 2nd - 75, 3rd - 50, 4th - 25, 5th on back - 0. Expand to seven picks.
C) Everyone enters the playoff but the elimination methods from option A remain in effect.
D) Eff ewe DipStick, quit acting like Obama, we don't need any change.
