I'd like to have them locked in, but as long as you make your changes BEFORE the first practice session.

Also, check the rule guide, I'm adding one more rule that I think will elevate the competition a bit.

Umm.. did u just say we cant pick a winner again after getting it right ? For example .. why cant he pick Edwards again ? I dont think thats too cool.
Even out the playing field. Let's say for a second that someone picks Carl Edwards to win every week for 4 races, and he does. I don't think that's too cool, and I know other people might begin to complain about it after a while. That just means you've got to use your head and pick a different driver. There are 43 drivers in the field.

If you have a problem with it, PM me and I'll discuss it with nacho and gumbo. It's early and there's still room for change. I hope to have the system perfected by the time we get into the TNT SUMMER SERIES. Perhaps we could allow that driver to be picked in fantasy, but not for the win.

For now, that's my ruling and I stand by it. Let's give it a few weeks and see what it does for the competition on here. I personally think it'll make it more fun. Makes it so you can't pick the same 4 or 5 drivers every week after a while, makes you have to reach into your pants and make a risky pick once in a while. :jet:

I just dont understand the rule change after we started .. i think there are 43 drivers who are trying for the top 5 .. and thats who we are trying to pick ! Winner or not, the toughest part is picking the winner .. need to keep it even by mid season we may only just get 1 right

:boo::smack: If Carl Edwards wins for 4 weeks in a row and someone doesnt chose him like after the third win stupid on your part, dont complain start picking him yourself. At least allow us to still pick that driver, but not for the win. Hell I dont want to end up having to chose someone like Kyle Petty for a win, and certainly not a Ford driver. You dont have choose the winner each week to be at the top of the standings I havent chosen a winner yet and Im only 10 behind the leader. Maybe instead of 25 bonus points give 25 total points for a win and not 35, and 10 points for the rest like it is now. .:bigwhoop:

You're new to NASCAR, aren't you? :eyebrow:

:roflmao:

That's why the rule book is a sticky. :smack:

I'm coming up with a few ideas and will talk to nacho and gumbo about them, including reseting that rule for the TNT Summer Series and the ESPN Race to the Chase or reseting everything altogether for the Chase.

Me and nacho discussed a similar idea to this, I think this is the best way of leveling things out. :yay:

Im new to NASCAR ? Unreal you would even suggest.
Then you know NASCAR changes the rules around during the season all the time, and much more drastically than I do. :roflmao:

At least I publish a rule book.

This is the first year of the fantasy challenge, and nothing's finalized yet. We're going to use this for now - it only limits me and Mikey at this point - and see if there are any changes we should make before the Pocono and the start of the summer series in June.

I predict .. with your idea, by mid season .. after all the usual winners win, we will be lucky to get one pick right maybe about other other week. NASCAR usual winners , top 5 guys will keep at it, us on here will be hoping that Montoya/Truex Jr crack a top 5 so we can get 10 points. Yipee.

That's why there's room for change, if necessary. Remember, right now we're just looking ahead to the NASCAR on TNT Summer Series. EVERYTHING's going to be reviewed then.

It's not like we are playing for money or anything. It's all in fun.

This is the first year we've brought out the fantasy thing for NASCAR. There's going to be some glitches and bugs until the kinks get worked out.

I for one, told Andy that everyone should have to pick someone that's 30th or worse in driver points, just to shake things up. I've been in fantasy racing leagues before where you are allotted a "salary cap" and you have to choose your drivers based on their "salary". You were allowed to pick 5 drivers, but if you wanted to go with the higher salaried drivers, you could do that, but would only get 3 or 4 drivers.

It shook things up and made it interesting. And fun. It's kinda boring seeing everyone pick the same drivers every week.

Hmm ... let's see. Jeff Gordon hasn't won a race. Jimmie Johnson hasn't won a race. Kevin Harvick hasn't won a race. Tony Stewart hasn't won a race. Junyer hasn't won a race. Keebler elf hasn't won a race. Juan Pablo hasn't won a race. Martin Truex hasn't won a race.

Who else? Oh, yeah. Matt Kenseth hasn't won a race. Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, David Ragan, Greg Biffle, Casey Mears, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Elliott Sadler, Reed Sorenson, Bobby Labonte, nobody won with Newman. Gee, the possibilities are endless. :jet:

So far, Mikey can't pick Carl and I can't pick Kyle. That's a long list of drivers that you all still have to choose from.

I explained to nacho as well as gumbo that I'm trying to keep to the basics of racing. We're only 4 races into the damn season, it's unfair to assume Carl and Kyle will win everything. You're already pretty much ruling Jeff and Jimmie out ... BIG MISTAKE! NEVER, EVER EVER assume Jeff and Jimmie won't be factors. I don't care if Jimmie's two laps down. I've seen those two drivers do things in a stock car that I would've considered impossible before they proved me wrong.

Kevin's looking solid. Plus, Goodyear still hasn't got their chit together with their tires, that's going to be a factor. We've seen in the past Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick flat out break out in the summer. Last year, Carl broke out during the TNT Summer Series, the year before that someone done lit a fire up under Kevin Harvick's hind end and he went out there and won damn close to everything he raced in.

This is NASCAR, the complexion of the championship picture can and will change, and it will do so often.

:smack: yourself.

Picking the winner is a huge feat. Adding this ONE little teeny tiny restriction makes it even harder. The 35 points for guessing the winner is not up for discussion, those are 35 well deserved points.

This isn't final, we may decide to reset the restrictions on the drivers you can choose at the start of the TNT Summer Series, and again at the start of NASCAR on ESPN's Race to the Chase, and once more for the Chase for the Championship on ESPN on ABC.

I'm also thinking about giving a 40 point bonus for a sweep, that would make things even more awesome. :yahoo:

We're taking yall's advice into account which is kind of us, because I am Big Bill France in this league and could just say, that's the way it is, c'est la vie.
