(CATONSVILLE, MD) — Maryland State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal motor vehicle crash on northbound I-95 in Baltimore County that occurred on the late evening of July 8, 2020.
Troopers have identified the deceased as Marita Estrada Guerra, who was pronounced dead on scene. Her body will be taken to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Her family was notified on scene of the collision.
At approximately 10:54 p.m. Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack arrived on scene of a two vehicle collision on northbound I-95 near Exit 47. Preliminary investigation found that Marita Estrada Guerra was traveling northbound I-95, veered off the roadway and struck the left shoulder guardrail, and came to final rest perpendicular with the roadway in lane 3. A second vehicle, also traveling northbound I-95 in the same area, in lane 3 then struck the broadside of Guerra’s vehicle on the driver’s side causing significant damage. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for non-life threatening injuries.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team was notified and is continuing the investigation.
