On 10/12/19, at approximately 0002 hrs, troopers from the Rockville Barrack responded to S/B I-270 in the area of I-370, Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland for a report of a pedestrian struck. Preliminary investigation reveals a vehicle was traveling on S/B I-270 when, for unknown reasons, the operator lost control of the vehicle and struck the jersey wall. The operator exited his vehicle and was reported to be waving at passing vehicles while running down the roadway between lanes 1 and 2. While in the roadway, the operator was struck by a Hyundai passenger vehicle. Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased shortly thereafter. The pedestrian was from the Boyds area of Montgomery County, Maryland.
