State Police Fatal Collision Montgomery County

On Friday, December 27th, 2019 at approximately 0525 hours Troopers assigned to the Rockville Barrack responded to a single-vehicle collision with one fatality that occurred on northbound I 270 north of Shady Grove Road. At that time, a pedestrian was struck by a commercial motor vehicle in the main lanes of I 270. There was an SUV disabled in the transition lanes between the main lanes and local lanes of I 270 which the pedestrian may have been connected with. The investigation is continuing at this time. The northbound lanes of I 270 are closed for the investigation. Traffic is getting by in the local lanes. The driver and the victim have not been identified.
