Investigators with our Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are working to confirm the circumstances of a fatal crash that occurred in late July. One of the involved drivers, 23-year-old Austin Daniel Hill of Centreville, died of his injuries on August 26th.
On July 28th, shortly before 8:00 pm, we responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Sheriff Road for a collision.
The investigation reveals Hill, who was operating a motorcycle, and a second driver in a car collided at that location. Preliminarily, it appears Hill failed to stop at a red light. The second driver suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
