State Police FATAL CRASH ON I-695 IN BALTIMORE CO. UNDER INVESTIGATION

(TOWSON, MD) — Maryland State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash on the outer loop of I-695 in Baltimore County that occurred tonight when a driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle and overturned.

Troopers are working to identify the adult male victim and notify family. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. His body will be taken to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. His identification is not being released at this time.

Just before 1218 a.m. tonight, troopers at the Golden Ring Barrack were dispatched for a report of a single vehicle crash on the outer loop of I-695 at exit 28, Providence Rd. Due to the crash, troopers had to close the entire outer loop. MDOT State Highway Administration personnel responded to detour traffic onto Providence Rd. and around the scene. All lanes were reopened at 4:08 a.m.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team was called out and continuing the investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicates a driver, later identified as the deceased, lost control of his vehicle, overturned and was ejected. Two passengers inside the vehicle were transported St. Joseph’s Hospital and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Baltimore County with non-life threatening injuries.
