We're all mad here.
Very sad....just glad that the family didn't have to witness the crash.

The whole area from Airport View to Sotterly/Hollywood Road seems to be horrible for accidents. I wasn't really aware of how bad it was until I started having to pass these roads each day to get to work. While I doubt this was the situation due to the time of night, I think that sometimes people feel pressured to pull out of these side roads onto 235 to appease the impatient people behind them.

Friday evening I was turning right from Airport (the side that connects directly to Mervell Dean) and some guy behind me in a truck started laying on his horn and throwing his hands the air because I wasn't pulling out into traffic the exact second traffic cleared. I knew the second that he flew up on me and stopped maybe 1/2 inch from my bumper he was in a rush, so I wasn't all that surprised. I couldn't see to the side of the vehicle turning and I didn't want to chance...is it really that huge of a deal to wait an extra two seconds, maybe?

LOL, I guess not according to that guy. My car gets up to speed pretty fast, so I'm not afraid of going when I can see what's coming. If I don't have a clear view of traffic and can't see what's coming, I'd rather not chance it and cut someone off/crash to appease some guy in a rush.

Darwin was right
I seldom see a week pass that there is not an accident at that intersection. The other place that surprises me is the straight section of road right in front of Wildewood Shopping Center.

I agree about people being impatient. I don't pull out into travel until I can see that it is clear. I have had people go around me because I didn't pull out into travel in a timely manner for them. I guess they had a clearer view and could see what is coming but I rather not take a chance. I want to see for myself that it is safe to pull out. I guess I'm not in a big of a hurry as most people. I want to get where I am going safely.

:yeahthat:
granny45 i am with you 100% one that the thing that kills me is the moron who goes around me or cuts me off is normally only one car ahead of me at the next traffic light

That what got a teenage girl and her teen brother killed in Charlotte Hall about 15 years ago. Her picture is still hanging in Unique Chic where she worked. She pulled out onto Rt 5 and a school buss was next to her. She took a chance since she couldn't see.
