Arcides Marquez Machuca was pronounced deceased at 9:20 AM at a local hospital.

Narrative:




On the above listed date and time, the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack received a report of a three vehicle serious personal injury collision. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is conducting the reconstruction investigation. At this time the investigation has determined that Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on I-270 in the exit lane for northbound MD 85. Vehicle #1 then swerved back toward the travel lanes of northbound I-270 and struck a guardrail attenuator. Vehicle #1 then lost control and spun into the northbound I-270 travel lanes. Vehicle #2 was traveling northbound I-270 approaching MD 85 in lane 1. The front of Vehicle #2 struck the rear of Vehicle #1. The driver and sole occupant of Vehicle #1 was ejected from the vehicle and later transported by ground. Debris from the initial impact struck Vehicle #3 as it was passing the scene. The drivers and sole occupants of Vehicle #2 and Vehicle #3 were not injured. The driver of Vehicle #1 was pronounced deceased at 9:20 AM at a local hospital.



All lanes of northbound I-270 at MD 85 were closed from approximately 7:45 AM until 12:20 PM. During that time all vehicle traffic was diverted onto northbound MD 85 via Exit 31A.
