Narrative:
On Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 1546 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to a personal injury, two vehicle collision on S/B Route 15 @ Sundays Lane. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the at fault vehicle a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis passenger operated by Kristy Denise Clark, a 56 year old white female of Frederick County, was attempting to traveling westbound across southbound Route 15 to continue westbound on Sundays Lane. Vehicle number two, a 1998 Ford Expedition operated by Derek Lee Rector, a 34 year old black male of Frederick County, was traveling southbound in lane one on Route 15 and struck the passenger side of vehicle number one.
The driver of vehicle one was pronounced deceased in the back of an ambulance due to her injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Chart Units responded and assisted with a roadway closure on Sundays Lane during the investigation and roadway clean up. Route 15 both directions remain open. The on scene investigation was conducted and concluded and Sundays Lane was reopened.
