PGPD Fatal Motorcycle Crash in District Heights Under Investigation

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred on Monday evening in District Heights. The victim is 25-year-old Marc Yearwood Jr., of District Heights.

On September 2nd, at approximately 6:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1600 block of Ritchie Road for a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. Yearwood suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.


The preliminary investigation reveals Yearwood lost control of the motorcycle upon landing a wheelie. His bike hit a curb and he ultimately struck a fire hydrant.
