PGPD Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Chillum Under Investigation

The department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that took place on Wednesday evening in Chillum. Investigators are working to identify the decedent so his family can be notified.

On January 20, 2021, at approximately 11:20 pm, patrol officers were called to East-West Highway and Riggs Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the decedent was struck as he attempted to cross eastbound East-West
Highway. The driver of the striking tractor trailer remained on the scene and was not injured.
