PGPD Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Langley Park Under Investigation

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a now fatal pedestrian collision that originally occurred on January 23, 2022. The deceased pedestrian is 50-year-old Julio Ayala of Silver Spring.

On January 23, 2022, at approximately 6:20 pm, patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of University Boulevard in Langley park for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian. Ayala was transported to the hospital where he died on February 4, 2022.

The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was struck while walking in a parking lot on University Boulevard. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene and was not injured.
