PGPD Fatal Shooting in City of District Heights Under Investigation

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is working to determine the circumstances of a fatal shooting inside of a District Heights home Sunday evening. The decedent is 57-year-old Albert Gass, Jr. of District Heights.

On January 23, 2022, at approximately 6:25 pm, officers responded to the 7500 block of Kipling Parkway for a reported shooting. The officers discovered the decedent inside of his home with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Two additional individuals also suffered gunshot wounds. Preliminarily, their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Investigators have identified all of the individuals involved in this incident and are actively examining evidence. Preliminarily, it appears Gass shot at individuals in the home and one occupant returned fire. Detectives are in consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed in this case.

Bajo Investigación Mortal Tiroteo en Ciudad de District Heights
