PGPD Fatal Shooting In Landover Under Investigation

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man Monday in Landover. The victim is 39-year-old James Allen Simon Jr. of Clinton.


On January 25, 2021, shortly before noon, patrol officer responded to the 2100 block of E Spring Place for the report of gunfire and a car crash. Once on scene, officers located a car that had crashed into a home. Simon was found in the driver’s seat suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died several hours later. No one inside the home was hurt.

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s) in the case.
