The Homicide Unit is working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man Wednesday night in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim is 34-year-old Lomax McIntyre of Capitol Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On December 14, 2022, at approximately 9:10 pm, officers responded to the 6700 block of Walker Mill Road for the report of a shooting in a parking lot. Officers discovered evidence of a shooting but no victim was located. Within minutes, officers were notified of a shooting victim nearby in the 5900 block of Marlboro Pike. The victim, McIntyre, was pronounced dead on the scene. The preliminary investigation reveals he had been shot at the Walker Mill Road scene and drove away seeking help.
Detectives are working to determine a motive.
