Are there any fathers out there who have won custody of there kids? I'd love to here your story. As well as what happened after you won. Did she fight the arrangement? Did she pay childsupport? My husband and I are going through a battle and I'm loosing hope and could really use some real life, happy ending stories to cheer me up.

Yes my father divorced my mother when I was very young. He got FULL custody of my sister and I. I'm not sure what your situation is, but I think that my father did the right thing for us. My mother was ordered to pay child support, but never did I am 20 now my sister is 23 and she is still paying areerage. We struggled a bit growing up but my father did the best that he could for us and I appreciate it so much, because now i relize how much he gave up for us. GOOD LUCK!

Mine started out that ex wife had custody and I had to pay. Then kids got old enough to make a choice, chose me, and the judge reduced the ex's child support to less than half of what i had to pay. I didn't care because I could do it without her financial contribution but who says life is fair. As men, we just have to suck it up if we feel us having custody is in the kids best interest. By the way, their mom was doing a great job but the kids were missing dad, mom was re married and trying to be perfect mommy and that was driving everybody crazy

I was just getting out of Reidsville state prison in Georgia after doing a 4 year stint for felony assault, for beating a Balloon artist/clown with a tire iron and throwing him off an overpass into traffic.

I followed the social worker to the foster home Boy was being held at and broke in at night and sprung him. After I stole a car we took off for Missouri where we lived in a shack on the shore of the Lake of the Ozarks. We lived off Vienna Sausage and salad bar left overs from a Sizzler in town for 9 months when we took off for North Dakota after a strip mall security guard nabbed Boy trying to boost a gumball machine and I had to shank him with a straight slot screw driver I sharpened on a rock.

North Dakota sucked so after we knocked over 3 convenience stores to score some cash I took him to a strip joint in Fargo for a birthday party for his 10th birthday. He had a blast. Now we live here under assumed names and we are happy.

But seriously, I've met more men the past few years than ever that have custody of the kids.

I was 14 when my Dad finally got custody of me. He had to fight tooth and nail for me. She gave up on my brothers because they were old enough to choose. Just because your the mom doesn't mean the kids should be with you. Fathers have rights too. The courts didn't make her pay child support even though she didn't even show up to court.

I got mine from NY when she was 12. The state of Md was CPS office was extremely helpful in giving me direction on what to do. It was all very sudden. Mom was eventually brought to Md to answer to child support which she was made to pay. Worked out great till my daughter moved back to her Mom's after highschool only to have her mother back door her again. Now she wants to live in Md again. Go figure!

Separation agreement said wife gets the two kids with no arguement from me. Paid support. Son#1 turned 13 and she said come get him. Couple years later son#2 turned 13 and she said come get him. My support stopped and I didn't ask for any from her. Had some rough times getting them through their teenage years but wouldn't trade that time for anything. Both are now productive citizens. Male or female, it can be hard to be a single parent.

My husband won full custody after a 50/50 for 6 years with her in control. At that point there was no support. She filed for full custody and lost in 2000 and she has been paying support since. Just recently, we had her support evaluated by the States Atty Office and they increased the payment, not that we need it, just that if it was the other way around, she would have....

My husband has custody of his 2 children from his 1st marriage and my brother-in-law got custody of his 5 kids from his 1st marriage. The courts don't seem to lean solely towards the mother as much as they used to IMO.
