In the spirit of the fall season (October especially), here's a thread about your favorite horror movies! It's one of the oldest and most durable of movie genres and there's such a wide variety of titles, from the psychological mind-benders to the splatter slashers, the creatures to the serial murderers... HORROR is a big genre. Post your favorites of the genre here!

I almost didn't include Ridley Scott's Alien on my list because of the sci-fi element, but I can't help but consider it horror. There's just so much taut suspense and creature goo. It's scarier, in my opinion, than most "pure" horror films.
