Anyone having problems with FB? It made me try to sign in (which it never does). I says my PW is an old one (not true). So I think I'm being hacked. I go thru the steps to change the PW and I have to enter a code generator (which I received in an email and a text). Now it's saying the code generator is invalid. So now it's saying it I need to verify my identity by sending a copy of a GOVERNMENT OFFICAL ID. WTF is this?

I don't know what to do. I've got so many pictures on there, I don't want to lose them. I'll be damn if I'm sending a photo id. Every code they email me comes up as invalid when I enter it. It shut itself down on the phone app too.

Have you been able to contact any customer support?

No, everything requires me to log on. They have sent a code generator to my email but when I enter it, it keeps saying it's an invalid code or retrieve from my phone app. I can't log on in the phone app either.

Same happened to me about a yr ago. Took over a month to fix. I did finally send them a copy of my drivers license, back on within hrs.

I was having Marketplace withdrawals. And I missed friend's news.

Me too. At least I know now, it's valid to request my ID. But I don't think when I originally signed up I gave them my real birth day. I tend not to do that.

When they asked me for a copy of gov ID, I said “screw them”, and quit FB.
Would not have helped anyway, as both my name and BD were not real.
(Just so y’all know, I’m pretty handsome, and not a bear, and I was not born on 30th of February).

FB withdrawal is real, but it gets better.

I'm not comfortable sending my ID and as I said they don't have my correct birthday. I'm missing my daily picture of the grandbaby. I've still kept trying, it won't work and I go in circles. The code generator number keeps coming up invalid (I know, I'm repeating this info, sorry). So I don't know if I'm actually dealing with the actual FB or not. Friends have told me I'm not on their friend list anymore and I'm not coming up in a search with my name. I reported I think I was hacked, maybe they've shut it down because of that. I'm at my wit's end with this.

I would clear my cookies, cached and history and then reboot and then try to log on through your icon.

I quit Facebook in December 2019. Husband's account got hacked last year in the middle of the night. FB sent "notifications" to our email to confirm whether or not it might be a scam. Of course, we were all asleep. By the time we saw the emails, his account was already taken over and there was no way to recover it. He just said "screw it" and never made another account.

Take a different tack. Get a Zoom account and get a real time video with sound instead of a picture.
Good point. I want my account back. I had lots of videos on there of my grandkids and my best friend who recently passed away. The kind you can only save on your FB account and not on your computer. This is what's bothering me.

See, THIS is why I'm still on FB. I have friends and family all over the country and like to keep in casual touch with them, meaning it doesn't have to be some long catch-up phone conversation - checking out what they had for dinner or admiring the new shoes they bought is good. I REALLY want to see their vacation pics, and FB is ideal for that whereas a phone call is not.

Anyway, I hope your problem gets solved.

Facebook Okays Calls for Violence Against Russians

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, sent an email to employees of both social media platforms informing them that calls for violence against Russians and Russian soldiers will temporarily be allowed, according to a report by Reuters.
