The FBI had informants in Washington as the U.S. Capitol was breached on Jan. 6, 2021, according to an inspector general report released on Dec. 12.

Twenty-nine confidential human sources (CHSs) were in Washington on Jan. 6, U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz said in the report, which is the result of years of work.
The presence of FBI informants in Washington on Jan. 6 had been known, but the exact number had never been confirmed. Confidential informant reports have contributed to the prosecution of members of the Proud Boys and others who took part in the breach.
Horowitz also said that the probe turned up no evidence showing any undercover FBI employees attended the various protests that took place on Jan. 6, or went to the Capitol that day.

All but three of the FBI informants were in Washington on Jan. 6 “in connection with” the protest and other events that took place that day, Horowitz and his team said.

Four of the informants ended up entering the Capitol and 13 others entered the restricted Capitol grounds, despite that none of them received authorization to do so, the watchdog found.

I like the word games - you know, NO ONE undercover - they were confidential informants.
Just like they didn't wiretap Trump - no - we did listen in on him, but they weren't "wiretaps".
Oh and it wasn't spying either. It was surveillance.

Question - some of these people went into the Capitol or restricted areas - offenses some people got jailed for.
What's the deal on having your own people mixed in - do they get off scot-free committing a "crime"?
Isn't that a line law enforcement isn't supposed to cross, undercover or not - commit a crime?

And those are just the informants. Now I want to know how many actual agents were there disguised as Patriot Front.
Oh you mean the group that announced their disbandment the same day Wray resigned? I'd say anyone that was from Patriot Front was a fed....people have pics of the clowns the day of....all dressed the same, same watches, etc.....they should all be in prison.

You all realize that an 'informant' is a snitch...right? It is NOT an employee or agent. Essentially, they had 29 snitches come forward to give evidence about the Capital.

Depends on the definition of agent. Such as "a person who obtains information for a government or other official body, typically in secret."

You forget that they have a 'License to Lie' card.
And we now have recent pearl clutching about the accusation of "weaponizing" the DoJ.

I know they haven't always been forthright, but at some point in our history, we kind of expected LE to be honest - and fair.
Now, I don't think people believe them if they tell the truth.

I'm beginning to see how authoritarian governments arise.

You can look at this in a couple or more of ways. "informants", Confidential human sources, That sure sounds like snitches.
Were the snitches paid? If they were snitches and they were paid, can their information be trusted.?
Were the snitches placed there or did they decide to snitch after the fact.
If they were placed there, that insinuates that the FBI wanted informants --information.
If they needed confidential information-------why didn't they have FBI plain clothes there.?

No: The FBI is lying. Flat out lying.

Using the Occams Razor principle....

Most likely that they were nabbed and saved their own skin by snitching out others. And.. got paid to do so.

Look, the FBI guys, they promised me a deal. So, so I made up a lot of stuff about [insert villain name here] 'cause that's what they wanted.

But -- But it was all lies. Uh...everything!

They kept saying [insert villain name here] did this and [insert villain name here] did that. So, I said, "Yeah, sure." Why not?
