FBI hero paying the price for exposing unjust ‘persecution’ of conservative Americans

It's gotten to where anymore, this stuff could go under either News, or Politics.

Bombshell allegations by FBI Special Agent Steve Friend contained in a whistleblower complaint filed late Wednesday with the Department of Justice inspector general reveal a politicized Washington, DC, FBI field office cooking the books to exaggerate the threat of domestic terrorism, and using an “overzealous” January 6 investigation to harass conservative Americans and violate their constitutional rights.

Friend, 37, a respected 12-year veteran of the FBI and a SWAT team member, was suspended Monday, stripped of his gun and badge, and escorted out of the FBI field office in Daytona Beach, Fla., after complaining to his supervisors about the violations

Seems to me that "whistleblowers" are hailed as heroes and afforded special protections under the law, when their target is conservative.

I thought there were whistleblower laws saying you can't fire someone for exposing your corruption?

Oh...wait...silly me. Our law enforcement doesn't have to adhere to any laws.

That only counts for democrat whistleblowers.
Most FBI agents know that and just put in their time and attack Republicans to keep their jobs, and pensions.

But the FBI (if they can be believed) said he was suspended for being AWOL from a raid and for downloading material to an unauthorized thumb drive. Which might be only a cover story for going after a whistleblower, who knows.

Yeah, those snowden, assange, and manning guys (or gals) sure got off lightly.

The only difference, and what should be a critical difference, is that this guy actually attempted to follow legal whistleblowing procedures.

DOJ Internal Watchdog Shuts Down House Democrats’ Claims Against FBI Whistleblower Steve Friend

“Our understanding has been, and remains, that it is your office’s intent to interview Friend in order to obtain a more complete understanding of his allegations and fully assess both his underlying disclosures as well as his retaliation claims,” he wrote. “However, last week Democrats on the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary provided a ‘staff report’ to the New York Times containing selectively edited partial transcript excerpts of Friend’s testimony, along with various interview exhibits, and numerous mischaracterizations written by Democrat staff, including claims about meaning of the December 2, 2022 form letter from your office and the current status of Friend’s case there.”

Jason Foster, Empower Oversight founder, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the DOJ-OIG letter “confirms what we told anyone who bothered to ask from the beginning.”

“It’s a shame that so many media organizations ran with partisan talking points that were too good to check and misled so many of their readers, but this letter confirms what we told anyone who bothered to ask from the beginning—Friend made legally protected disclosures and the Inspector General will be interviewing him about them,” he said.

Democratic New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler and Democratic Virgin Islands Del. Stacey Plaskett did not immediately respond to a question about why the Democratic Staff Report claimed the DOJ-OIG rejected Friend’s claims.
