The NTSB has asked the NHTSA to make it required on all new cars.

Wait until they realize how many of those crashes are caused by unlicensed, uninsured, illegal aliens and hood rats driving stolen cars.

Maybe in SoCal, it's a real problem there. But for the overwhelming majority of the country that is a less than nothing issue. I'm against adding extra regulatory crap to cars, but let's not pretend it's uninsured illegals getting into accidents 'round here.

How many fatal accidents have we discussed on this site in the last few years. 10? 20? I remember several at that intersection in mechanicsville. And a certain road where everyone goes off at the turn and flips (including fire trucks). Hell there was a policeman who ran over a guy on the side of the road, anything ever come of that? Was a single one these accidents an illegal alien, i'm sure I would have remembered.

Your mechanic will love it, after dealing with your filthy mask hanging on the mirror/gear shift and used tissues in the door handle.

Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Nebraska...basically anywhere where large numbers of both legal and illegals tend to congregate.

I don't know if you know this or not, but despite the song, we are not the world, here in Southern Maryland.

So, to be crystal clear. You are against DUI Interlock devices, because uninsured illegals are the bigger issue.

So would you support a license/insurance interlock? It checks w/ DMV to make sure your license, insurance, and registration are all current and valid before allowing you to use the vehicle?

We're going to end up like Cuba with everyone driving 40 year old cars because they can't afford newer ones.
I'm already there - at least, only ever buying used cars, albeit slightly used.

My brother, who was in auto sales for many years, always insisted that a very reliable used car is the best investment - he particularly suggested older model Mercedes-Benz.

I love my car and hope it lasts forever. It's been a real champ.
