Feeling Disgusted

I know this will probably be just a "rant" to some - I have to say that I am really disgusted by something that happened today. It will come out in the local news soon enough. There are quite a few cop haters on these forums. They are mostly hated for doing their jobs. They are people, humans, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends to others. My daughter is a cop, my husband a former cop turned Agent and I worked for 10 yrs of my life with some of the best cops in South Florida. When there are tragic accidents, robberies, rapes, murder, burglaries, assaults, vandalisms, etc. the first thing people say are "I hope the cops catch them". When children are hurt and people are outraged, they always look to the cops. When there is any type of tragedy, cops are usually the first responders. Yet when they are doing radar and pulling people over, they are arseholes, jerks, bastards, etc. Not that they are trying to keep the streets safer from people, no that doesn't count. When your family or friends are in trouble or need help - why call the cops if you hate them so much? Well, I guess there are some that hate them so much they go as far as destroying something that belongs to them at their own home - not even so much as taking into consideration the danger that could have put the neighbors in. The "innocent bystanders" that live nearby. Really made me sick to think that today is Independence Day. Oh yeah, Happy 4th of July....

I am sorry that some ignorant azzhole saw fit to destroy something belonging to a police officer and by doing so endangered many other people. Our world seems to contain many people who are concerned only for themselves and being able to do as they wish no matter who suffers. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to do anything to these people, other than call our police and let them deal with the law-breakers.

Personally, I'm very glad that we have the protection that we currently enjoy from our law enforcement officials. I have seen nothing but courtesy, dedication, and respect from any of those that I've come into contact with over the years. I even have one in the family and we worry about her all the time.

Sending out many thanks to the families of our law enforcement folks as the burden on you all is tremendous. Thanks for giving up all that you do so your family member can keep us all safe from harm.

With luck, our law enforcement folks will find out who did it and then prosecute. It's not a perfect system but it's the best one that we have right now.

In the meantime, do not give the miscreant the satisfaction of letting their actions ruin your day. Go out and enjoy your 4th! :patriot:

wait, what happened? what was destroyed? was it a cops property or a cop haters property? if it's coming out anyway, no need to be so vague.

So, I do have to ask, are we sure the thing that was destroyed was destroyed because it belongs to a police officer?

Yes it was. I am surprised I haven't seen it out in the news yet. I can pm you if you would like more details. Not putting a lot out there until it is released.

This is great. If nothing comes out, you'll claim it's being suppressed. If anything hits the news in the next six months or so, you'll claim you knew about it first. This is one of those Nigerian internet scams isn't it?

Ok. So it sucks. But not any more than when another human's stuff is wrecked. Cops do their job. And so do a lot of other people. The over-entitlement is annoying.
