I know this woman's mother, and she is a very good friend of mine and a lovely lady. She knew her daughter had issues, but I am so sad to have to see her go through this...ugh. I am just heartbroken for her.

It doesn't sound like foul play and if she was found where she chose to live than it can be considered as her "dying from natural causes at home"... that happens all the time and is normal... so you should be able to take comfort in that.
