I had no idea there was a ferret rescue down here. I have 6 ferrets now and have owned ferrets since about 1995. They are so cute but I just wish they'd live longer. I think the oldest I got one to is 5. Pancreatic cancer is a b*tch! One of my ferrets had it 3 times before it finally claimed her too. I think once my fuzzy faces are all gone, I won't get any more because it's too heart-breaking to watch. They put on such a brave face when they are sick that you don't know they are sick until it's pretty much too late.
We have been down here for a little while. So far the oldest ferret I have is 7 and going strong.
But due to an illness I have to expedite the adoptions, I am having surgery and cannot take care of them.
If you know anyone looking for a little one please let me know.
I also felt the same way when I lost my first one, but then I decided I was not going to deny others a good home and took comfort in knowing that I am giving the a loving home and a good life.
