St Police barracks in Prince Frederick.
Interesting. I never thought of them.St Police barracks in Prince Frederick.
there are some exceptions to the HQL when it comes to inherited arms but id recommend a thorough read of the information on the MSP site.Interesting. I never thought of them.
The transfer would be to another Maryland resident.
I'm wondering if the person receiving the firearms (the son of the decedent - so he's considered an heir) will need the new license for handguns?
Guess I'll be making some phone calls.
Thanks all!
I'm fairly certain the Maryland State Police will not do transfers of anything other than a handgun.
You know better...
Im fairly certain long guns dont need a nics check in Maryland for private transfer..
Private sales of standard rifles and shotguns are not required to be processed through a licensed dealer, and purchasers are not subject to background checks for these weapons.
To cover myself, I want to make sure there is a record of every firearm that the son takes possession of.....handgun or long gun. Plus I need some sort of record for the estate accounting that I do not posses them, otherwise, I will have to pay inheritance tax on their value, being as I was not married to or related to the decedent.
