Interviews with former (and some not so former) Nazis and their memories of the Holocaust.
Everyone should watch this documentary. Seeing these terrible people describe the atrocities - some with absolutely zero remorse - is mind-bending. To his credit the interviewer tries to stay out of it and not openly judge these people, which makes them more forthcoming with their awful stories. A couple of them tried to pretend that they knew nothing of what was really happening, but others cry bullshit on that and say everybody knew.
Why we care is because this is human nature at its bare rotten core. Caught up in hysterical propaganda, wanting to be important and part of a group, to the point that they lose every shred of humanity they may have possessed. And we say it could never happen again, but we're watching the seeds of it right now in our own country, where political prisoners are being held this very minute and the mainstream news media won't report it. We have our own little red-headed Goebbels lying blatantly or refusing to answer important questions. People are being actively persecuted for not toeing the Democrat Party line, and we are being tracked and censored by their Big Tech cohorts.
One of the more remorseful former Nazis holds a discussion with young German students, who either lambaste him for not "standing up for the Fatherland" or nod off out of boredom. One old Nazi openly swears his allegiance to Hitler and denies that Hitler had any involvement in the Holocaust. It's fascinating.
We should never ever forget what the Nazis did, and yet here we are not even 100 years later - forgetting our asses off and going down the same path.
