Louisiana Approves $7.5 Billion in Hurricane Katrina Housing Aid – http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,195051,00.html

Thank goodness, it is taking a long time for funding to come through and Louisiana to get their feet back on the ground. Hopefully this extra money approved yesterday will give them the extra help they need.

Maybe Louisiana will become one massive sugar-field-creating-ethanol-for-cars state?

And now for something completely different...

Louisiana embraces socialism.
Because the enormous government agencies have fostered an atmosphere of dependence, the State of Louisiana,..incapable of managing its own resources, regulating the behavior of its officials & public, and generally being ignorant of a decent work ethic...
has surrendered to the inevitable promise of socialism.
State managed food distribution, health care, housing, education, elderly care is now in place.

congratulations.

Maybe we should just give "Nuevo Orleans" over to the illegals?
It's already going that way. I saw several news reports about Hispanic immigrants (not sure about legal/illegal) going there in force to get jobs rebuilding. I say good for them :yay:

I just want to see Louisiana get back on its feet. My brother just got back from Jazz Fest and said that New Orleans is pretty quiet. Only one waitress/bartender working. I hope that people continue to visit the state, Baton Rouge is a great place, and pump money into the state. I am going back for a LSU Football game this fall, can't wait!
