Finding Out If Someone Is "Wanted"

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if there is a web page or a way to find out if someone is "wanted" in this state or any other? There are two very suspicious people that frequent my business that are very cautious about who knows their names and where they are from. Thank's in advance!

Call the police and tell them the information, they will run the check.

I'm assuming you can call and remain anonoymus?

Yes, but I hope if they are wanted, you will alert the police when they return to your business, otherwise, if you just want to know for your own personal knowledge, you doing nobody any good calling it in.

That link will only give you Maryland information (not out of state) and it does not always show if there is an active warrant out for someone in Maryland.

It's a place to start...

Before you can find any information you have to know what their names are. There are websites that will give you that sort of information for a fee.

Make sure your security camera has a tape in it and its turned on! :yay:
Can you get a tag # off their vehicle?

Hey-I don't like it when sales clerks ask a lot of personal questions-zip code, phone #, see my drivers license, etc..but that's just me.
Now I'm starting to feel suspicious!! :jameo:

I'm very particular about who knows my name, where I live, etc. Why should a total stranger or casual acquaintance need to know this information? It's not about me being "wanted" - it's about me exercising caution and showing concern for my own welfare and privacy.

I do know their names and I also know for a fact that they have been involved in criminal activity in the past. They are good friends with a co-worker and are currently living in the same residence with them. I have every intention on turning over every bit of information that I have on them to the police once it is confirmed.

Why? Are they hurting you in any way? Best advice: MYOB.

I think that is a great idea, and when they knock over a store, kill somebody, or whatever, she can be interviewed on the evening news and say “I knew they were up to no good.”

Then we as society will say and the dumb dumb never bothered to call the police.

If they do not have any outstanding warrant, there is nothing further that will come from the phone call. If her instincts are right, she will be glad she followed thru with them.

It seems odd that these people will not even tell a friend of a co-worker their names.

You can be a criminal without an oustanding warrant. I agree with the previous post, MYOB, unless you witness a crime. It's like the stupid minute men down in California, everyone now a days wants to be a damn police detective. If I were them, I'd tell her to go screw herself.

I'm very sensitive about giving out information myself. I got into a rather heated discussion with a clerk at Radio Shack because he wanted my phone number just so I could have the privilege of buying a battery for my cordless phone. Doesn't make me a criminal or a fugitive from justice. I think it's very prudent in this area to be very guarded about giving out personal information. I think we need to very careful about trusting our "instincts". If you follow the chain of dominos that fall, it's the first step in discriminatory profiling.

Take a little time, stop by the local Sheriff's office with names and tags in hand. Speak to a deputy, express your concerns for your safety, and see what they can find out about these people. They can't give you their criminal history but they can tell you if they are wanted. You can actually find out more about their criminal histrory from the web site mentioned above or by stopping by the court house. Believe me, you won't be the first one to do this. Police get calls like this all the time. They are not going to run to the bad guy and tell them you turned them in. Don't take the advise to MYOB. That's what the criminals want you to do, not your fellow residents.

What she described was not a casual ringing up of merchandise where she inquired about their names and they didn’t give them. She said that a co-worker of hers has friends who are reluctant to give their names to her. Now maybe, she is a nosey busy body and the co-worker already warned the friends of this, but IF she is in a position of control, she has the right to know their names from her co-worker. Strangers or unknowns shouldn’t be hanging around the workplace. She thinks they are shady and my advice to her was to notify the police. If there is nothing there, then nothing else will come from her report.

Why do people make things harder than they need be?

It really IS that simple, like bdh802 just said.

Maybe they just don't like busynosey asses like yourself butting into their personal business? If they have not done anything than leave them alone.
