Anyone here who is selling or know where I can buy one local for a good price? Looking for used. New ones are a little out of my price range. Please pm me with info, thanks

Not always

Join a squad or a FD, they're free if you stick around.
All volunteers welcomed. :yahoo:

Not all depts. issue to all members. Most have limited numbers and generally give to top responders. Some depts. also have duty pagers that can be checked out for a duty shift then returned. Try ebay, also some pager companies take the old ones on trade-in then recondition and resell, that may get closer to your price range.

well the issue is I found one but on ebay but i wanted to make sure it was what i need for the area, like high or low frequency vfh or uhf. But its kinda late now so I guess I will get the right info tomorrow.

St Marys is VHF. I have a minitor 4 that I bought on ebay for $75, so they can be found for good prices, just have to really look sometimes, because sometimes the prices get high of ebay, people bidding more than they are even worth sometimes.

Tony, why don't you just go the "Shack" and p/u a scanner. Stay home and listen; why do you want a pager? Fire/Rescue really doesn’t like folks responding unless they are 1.volunteers or 2. Career. You're wanting a pager makes me think you might be squirrelly...no harm intended.:howdy:

If you actually were in Fire/EMS you could receive text message from the dispatch center, wouldn't need a pager.

I hear you may be able to pick em up cheap next year since the current system is obsolete and will need a replacement.

I agree with FUBAR. You seemed pretty intent on a pager, vice a scanner which will do the exact same thing. I've seen two EMS groupies, who would show up on scene, claiming they were "good samaratans" and caused more harm than good. We had to go to the sheriffs office about one of them. If you want to help, join a squad in your local area.
