Firefighter docked wages for donating bone marrow to dying girl

The fire fire fighter was doing a good thing.

However I can't blame the department for not paying him when he wasn't there. I know most companies out there would not pay you to do somthing like that if you did not want to use your sick time for it.

Mark had two weeks off work and is believed to have been docked five days' wages to cover the days he would have been in work.

Crikey! In the States you go home after donating bone marrow. He spent three days in hospital and got two weeks off work? And now people are sobbing over him.

...and he wasn't docked pay. He just wasn't paid for days he didn't work -- there's a big difference.
