Firefox Crashing

I can't believe how often Firefox crashes on Vista 64 Ultimate. At least once an hour. I got a lot of programs loaded but this is ridiculous. Any ideas on what can be causing this?

I wanted to do some research on something Bru brought up regarding changes to the law in 2006 and oil futures and both Firefox and IE were crashing. Sounds like something from the XFiles.

Just getting pizzed and wanted to vent.

In My Opinion
What version of FireFox are you using?
Make sure the pop up protection is running.

if all fails, do a total un-install and reinstall. Sometimes when you load a new program it will change DLLs to its version, causing other programs to run with improper versions.

V3 does have some issues, a few here have complained about crashes, me included. A minor update was just released for v3, maybe try loading that up.

It pretty much self updates but I'll look into it. I am running version 3 on this box.

I have XP and the new Firefox blew out all the add-ins for IE and now the...whatever it's called...is greyed out and I can't add them back in.

IE and now the...whatever it's called - are you talking about the IE Tab Extension?

No, I'm talking about where you click on Tools-->Manage Add-ons. It's grayed out so I can't enable my Google toolbar or Snagit or anything else that used to automatically load with IE.

I just checked the add-ons:

Google Toolbar (from the Extension Update) only works with FireFox 2.x. However, Google has one for Firefox (Version 3) on: http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/toolbar/FT3/intl/en/index.html

Snagit - (If we are talking about the same product- )t has an upgrade for Firefox Version 3: SnagIt Screen Capture SnagIt Accessories

I had the same problem and I fixed it. Does a window pop up when you switch from IE to Firefox? I noticed that when I said yes to it it made the add ons in IE turn off and then I couldn't do anything with it. So I switched control back to IE and then opened Firefox so it could ask me that question again and this time I said no. That fixed the add on problem.

I will try it again and see if I can find the question it asks so you are saying no to the right question. Hang tight!

Ok, tried to recreate the problem, but this is a Vista machine and it doesn't seem to be doing that on this one. I will find an XP machine and try it on that one. Hang tight again....

Tried several times to get it to recreate the situation but it will not. I apologize. I hope you can get it figured out. Good luck! :ohwell:
