Firefox vs. Internet Explorer

For my fellow geeks:

In the last two years, the web has gone through a truly vibrant period of innovation. We've seen advancements in file sharing, social networks and rich media presentation, as well as the proliferation of Ajax and full-fledged applications that run within the browser.

Within the last week, two new browsers have been released -- both of which hope to be your first choice for bringing all of that new web content to your desktop.

I love Firefox and have used it for years now. :yay:

Well, I've been using it because Safari crashes on me a lot when I'm on the somd forums.

I just downloaded the newest version of Firefox and tried to log-in to my Sirius account and it wouldn't let me type in the boxes. So, I'm back on Safari for now.

Did you notice that it has spell check now? A LOT of users should use this for their postings.

I really haven't had a chance to play with it, I just downloaded it less than 30 minutes ago.

Spell check would be a blessing for a lot of users.

I used Netscape for years now but 8.0 sucked and I didn't like Firefox because it didn't have the CNN sidebar or the AIM plugin. I've also had alot of horrid experiences with Firefox.

I use Firefox on my laptop that has Windows 2000 but I perfer Internet Explorer 7 in XP. Although, IE7 doesn't work with Exchange.ccboe.com on Vista :tantrum:.

My Firefox at work has this HUGE blank panel at the bottom - I have no idea what it does, or how to get rid of it. It's just an annoying waste of space.

How do I eliminate it?

The only panel mine has says "done" and it's only a 1/4" high.

I have ANOTHER panel below that one that is about an inch or so high. It has nothing in it at all, and a right click doesn't pop anything up. It's just wasted space, and I'm wondering why it's there (or even, HOW it's there).

The nice thing about Firefox is it's open source, gets lots of tweaks form geeks. It uses less resources, runs faster, is less suceptable to malware (not impervious) and it's not from Macroshaft.

IE7 is awesome. It stole alot of the concepts from other browsers but it works well.

Without a doubt...Firefox 2.0

Faster...and more stable. And if you run into a site that needs IE....you can right-click choose it.

doink !

FireFox. :yay:
