Fireplace Accessories

Where is the best place to get this stuff locally? Any fireplace specialty shop in the lower metro area would be fine, I don't mind driving if need be; but if there are stores around Waldorf that would be great, too.

I'd do the internet but everything I need is heavy and I'd get murdered on shipping. I need a screen, tools, wood rack, rug, the works.

Thanks! :huggy:

I have the perfect fireplace accessory, but I'll have to deliver it personally.

It's Old Washington Rd. (it parallels 301). take Rt. 5 Business past Post Office Rd to the light at the closed up Exxon station and liquor store, make a right (you are on 925).

It's a couple miles up on the left side.

TYVM, I'll definitely check out their business.

I would wait until Lowes or even Walmart starts stocking that stuff for the season. I tried the store on 925 for a hearth rug, cast iron kettle, andirons, decorative long match holder, firescreen for a 54" opening and also priced a gas log installation for a friend. Their prices were way out of line even compared to a shop in high priced Montgomery County. I bought all the forementioned items at Lowes, Home Depot (good selection there) and Ace Hardware. The 54" screen did come from the internet.

I definitely need the screen, how do they attach to your fireplace?

The opening was 54" wide and shaped in a semicircle. A very inefficient fireplace. The 4' height was the problem in finding even a stand alone screen. You probably have a rectangular opening 32-48" wide and there are a zillion different styles available. Lowes and HD have some very good models with screen and glass doors that seal extremely well. The decorative frames have bolts that extend into the sides of the opening to hold the unit in place.
