Damn! That's crazy, I can't believe the stock internals can handle that much boost.

Nice, it was only a matter of time they'd accomplish that!

Funny to see a car that looks fresh from the show room (except the wheels and tires) blasting past big tire, back half race cars. Im sure those guys were wondering WTF.

Hot damn, add that engine to the VERY short list of "Bullet Proof" motors.

Nice. :yay:

I was amazed at how fast it turned on after 500+ feet - that damn thing is pushing some boost.

My wife called and now she wants one - thanks. We almost bought a BOSS Mustang, now she wants the GT-500.

More than likely the boost doesnt come on hard till it gets going...lil easier to launch that way. Although on the last pass it seemed like they were up higher on the transbrake and used a two step as well...probably had more boost off the line.

BTW, PF Ford has a grey with black stripes GT500. :yay:

It's amazing what you can do with the new boost controllers. Don't have to mickey mouse around with air bleeds, one way valves, tubing rats nests, "T"'s and what not. Just a decent solenoid (or two) and a programmable boost controller with MAP sensor. Bring on the boost at whatever RPM you want, taper it off as you shift upwards to prevent detonation.

If you have a programmable EFI systesm you can retard timing below your torque converter stall speed to spool the turbo a little quicker too. Then bump it back up just before stall speed makes for a nice reduction in spool time!

ARG!! I miss my toy cars!!! :frown:

Look at JPC racing out of Glen Bernie, doing it with a gt mustang, they have been the first in 11,10, 9, and i believe the 8s,now, the new mustang, nothing like them.

Not up on Mustangs, does the new mustang still have the 4.6/5.4 motors? Give me the low down on the new cars.

the gts have the 4.6 and the gt 500 has the 5.4 supercharged, both are super nice, The new body style has alot more leg room for the front seat and they ride good, gas milage, not to bad for either but who cares about that.

05 and up gts are also 3 valve motors. The gt500 are 4 valve motors.
