Was good enough for Mandela.Lower government flags for the pope? Do we do this when leaders from other religious organizations become room temperature?
Also, John Paul II, Billy Graham and Queen Elizabeth. Was good enough for Mandela.
I can kinda-sorta seeing lowering for him, although wouldn't do it, but religious leaders? That's a never ending rat hole. Was good enough for Mandela.
Just wait until the next Democrat gets in and orders the flag lowered for Farrakhan.I can kinda-sorta seeing lowering for him, although wouldn't do it, but religious leaders? That's a never ending rat hole.
Superstar was great. Won the title in Baltimore! I'm OK with that. Also, John Paul II, Billy Graham and Queen Elizabeth.
And the leader of a billion Catholics. Not nearly as powerful as it sounds, but more consequential than most world leaders.Per the Google:
"the United States flag can be flown at half-staff to honor the death of foreign dignitaries, particularly heads of state, according to the U.S. Flag Code. The President has the authority to issue orders for half-staff displays for such events, and it's done as a mark of respect.
The Pope is a Head of State for the Vatican (Vatican city)
Agree 100%. The Pope's real power lies with his influence over 1 in every 6 or 7 people on the planet today. And the leader of a billion Catholics. Not nearly as powerful as it sounds, but more consequential than most world leaders.
Still - I ain't gonna miss him. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools - the Pope is more than just the head of the church, he represents the Church and - well - it's not supposed to move with the times. He's the rock.
Ah yes, Vatican City. The place with no walls where all refugees are welcome, right?Per the Google:

Once again... Google-fu to the rescue...Ah yes, Vatican City. The place with no walls where all refugees are welcome, right?

"Yes, Vatican City does welcome refugees, both through direct action and by advocating for their well-being globally. Pope Francis has consistently championed the cause of migrants and refugees, and the Vatican has taken concrete steps to aid them in preying upon europe and sneaking into the US."
