Despite recent claims by al-Qaida that they would attack Rome on the heels of the Pope's controversial remarks, this is not terrorist related.
ROME - A train on Rome’s underground metro system rammed into the back of another at high speed on Tuesday, killing at least two people and injuring up to 60 others, about a dozen seriously, authorities said.
The fire brigade said it was checking to see if any other victims were still trapped in the Piazza Vittorio metro station just south of the main overground rail terminal in the city center. One of the dead was a 30-year-old woman, it said.
Officials at the scene said there was no indication the accident was related to terrorism.
