fleas....

Is anyone else having trouble with fleas this fall? My cats stay inside.. But my dog goes out on leash for walks.. Normally as long as I keep my dog on frontline I don't have to treat the cats,

but this morning everyone was scratching..... $110.00 dollars later everyone got frontlined....

I gave up on Frontline this year. I used Advantage on the kitties (and they're all inside) and Advantix on the pups.

Best to treat the house too. If not they will stay around, then in 2 weeks treat the house again.

yeah I got the spray bottle of stuff also I am gonna add it to the water in my carpet shampooer.. I havent seen any on me... but gonna nip this in the bud.. before we have an infestation!

I have 2 indoor only cats. I have no outdoor pets.

They got fleas really, really bad about a month ago.

The whole house was infested. I had to treat it twice.

I wanna go to the cookie sale, want to pick me up? SIL changed from Frontline too the other, vet told her after awhile it will stop working. I haven't had a problem with Frontline yet.

hmmm I wonder if chai has just gotten immune to the frontline.... he could be the culprit!!!


At least he is easy.. he doesn't mind getting the flea stuff put on... but the cats are like OOOoooooooo my god.... have to chase em down or catch em by suprise! X 4

Its always the crazy chow dog brings them back in on him.

Is there any flea spray that is safe to treat the house with? Any preferences as to which works better?

Advantage for the cats and Frontline for the dog...I haven't seen a single flea all year. They do bring in a few nasty ticks who apparently never adhere and end up on the kitchen floor. Yuck.

Millertc...I have a bunch of bombs back at my old place I can pick up for you tomorrow. PITA, chemical residue, and the animals all have to be out of the house when you do it.

Thanks for the offer Wenchy . I was hoping for some new fancy spray where I did not have to leave the house I wanted to avoid the bomb route. With my 2 kids (ages 3 and 5) and 4 dogs there is no telling what would happen from the residue. I have not noticed any fleas since we used the Frontline about 2 weeks ago. I am just being paranoid because this is the 1st time in 9 years we have had a problem with them. The ticks are gross too. They seem to love my schnauzer the best but I have not found any for about 2 weeks.

Something like that. Jaybeeztoo told me about it when my house was infested three years back (it helped) Maybe she will see this and chime in.

Make sure your cats don't come into contact with the wet K9 Advantix on your dogs. Advantix can kill cats if they play with the dogs after application. Vets don't usually give dogs who have feline siblings K9 Advantix.

I tried Frontline this year because a smart forumite lady told mentioned it. I hate that crap. It does not work at all. I will go back to using Advantage.

Yep..you're right. I just kept my guys apart until they dried.
