A Florida middle school student was arrested earlier this month after allegedly getting into a confrontation with school officials and a law enforcement officer following reports that he refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I like this part, "In a handwritten statement to Polk County Public Schools, the teacher reported telling the boy, "Why if it was so bad here he did not go to another place to live." She said he then said, "they brought me here," according to Bay News 9."

No, you little crap, you were born here.

Lots of detail missing from the article. The kid cannot be compelled to recite or stand for the Pledge.

The article goes on to state the kid was charged with disruption and resisting, but don't really state what he did. Arrested after he refused to follow what orders?

Much is missing.

As stated: He has been charged with disrupting a school function and resisting arrest without being violent, both misdemeanors.

I don't understand why he was arrested either. He should have just been sent to the Principals office.

This ^^^

The teacher can call the cops all she wants, but cops won't arrest a kid just for not reciting the Pledge, as that is not against the law. Now if he became unruly and started busting up the place, THEN they would arrest him. But this child was NOT arrested simply for not reciting the Pledge, I can guarantee you that.

Fox engaging in fake news. :boo:

If I may ...

Well, thinking about it, it is kinda silly to pledge an allegiance to a flag. It should be re-written to just say, "I pledge allegiance and fidelity, to the Republic of the United States of America, one Nation under God, indivisible, with freedom, liberty and justice for all."

Actually they should take out the word Indivisible.

The democrats have proven that is no longer true.

Why even be sent to the principals office? He didn’t violate any rules and it wouldn’t have disrupted anything if the substitute teacher hadn’t made it an issue.

BTW, the sub got banned from the school over it

Btbtw, I always thought the pledge is stupid and something you would expect in a less free society like Cuba or China

Yes, you have made it perfectly clear that you think anything uniting us as Americans loyal to our country is "stupid".

You know, there are plenty of countries you can go to and live under a Socialist dictatorship. Why not go and be happy instead of trying to ruin this country for everyone else?

Hey sweets, this country is about freedom, not indoctrination into some hivemind
I am perfectly happy here, it seems like you are the one who can’t stand freedom.

There is a bit more to it than just refusing to cite the pledge.
The teacher should have just told him to sit and be quiet while the rest said he pledge.
But she was a Cuban refugee and got upset that the kid wouldn't pledge to the country she fled to.
The kid got mouthy and shouting everyone was racist and the school was racist and he got his little mouthy a$$ arrested.
The mother is terribly upset because she has an attitude called the Muvva complex, and she passed it on to her son.

The teacher f'd up and handled it wrong. so she is now suspended.
The kid is a hero to Sap and Midnight, fishboy and others who hate America.

Classic strawman.

You lose.

No straw man about it. It is either a powerful tool to untie the country or it is meaningless drivel. Pick a lane

Imagine the prosecutor who would bring charges of this nature against a child.

What a dumb country which would allow that.
