The food was only slightly worse than the service. Lured by a good review from my officemate, MK and I tried it out for lunch today. Our waiter sucked, I ordered the Chicken Chesapeake only to eat about a third of it to see the middle of my chicken was grossly undercooked, MK got a lamb steak which was very bland and terribly fatty and after eating a good bit noticed a big blue spot on the fat on the side. Not to mention he waited a healthy 10 minutes for the steak knife that the waiter failed to bring. He'll be along shortly to post the pictures of his blue spotted lamb. The only good thing about the entire experience was the assistant waiter (water guy) who was very friendly and accomodating.
Jazz and I had lunch at Tides today. It was very good, as was the service. Not one cockroach! :yay:

Photo didn't turn out too great.

We are definitely not going back. :yay:

Went there once, never ate there though. One of the glasses they served us water in on the table had lipstick on it from a previous table occupant. The dirty glass grossed us out and we decided not to find out what else hadn't seen a dishwasher.

Blue spot is normal. It's the ink (non-toxic) seal they certify and stamp the meat with before it's sold.

That's all well and good but wouldn't you trim it, especially since it was only on a big ol' honkin piece of fat, for those that are unaware of such things? Presentation is part of the dining experience.

Questionable. I've seen the seal on premium steaks from very fine steak houses. Personally, I'd trim it, but many don't. It can go pretty deep into the fat. Trimming away too much fat leaves a dry and tasteless meat.

I wasn't impressed with the place either. They lost my business after charging me $4 bucks for some Kraft Mac & Cheese.
I had myself so hyped up for the "Southern Mac & Cheese" and then it turned out to be that shiat!

Yes.

I've been twice and the food was pretty good, but the service was excruciating. BOTH times there was no silverware and we had to wait a very long time to get some. The second time, I even asked the waitress for silverware as soon as we sat down, and STILL the dumb bia brought out the food then *looked* at me when I reminded her that we had no eating utensils.

Don't even bother trying to get a refill on your iced tea or water.

There's no reason for me to go back, especially since Thai Inter and Asahi are right there.

Thai Inter. :yummy: We haven't been there for a while. The Indian joint was good for being in it's infancy when we went several weeks ago.

This steak had plenty of fat. I was a bit taken aback because I'm not a frequent lamb eater at all and didn't realize it could be so fatty.

Isn't there a sign for a new Indian place going in where the now defunct night club/ hooka / Thai place was?

Our water guy was the only thing good there today. He got my steak knife for me.

And ditto on Asahi. I mentioned today that we'd definitely have to hit it next time. We do teariffic about once a week and love it.

It can be, unless it's young lamb.

Next time you're in the store, look for a ham hock or a lamb whole leg. Most of the time you'll see the blue seal.
