Interesting interview with Mr. Foot and one of his young student team members. I came across this looking at what next week will look like. These were the ones that some wanted to believe with their high accumulation predictions, while others didn't want to.

But here they are...

Big salute to Mr Foot for getting and keeping his students engaged in something. Not to mention it looks like they're pretty good at what they do. Their site is a fantastic resource.

11:15 PM FRIDAY 2.19.2010 The "Level 2" alert has been modified to indicate primarily a threat of freezing rain or a wintry mix and less snow overall or the Mid-Atlantic. The Sterling, VA NWS has also indicated this in their forecast discussions, though the possibility of freezing precip has yet to work into official forecasts for some areas. Our overall stormcast for Monday will be released tomorrow.
1:45 PM THURSDAY 2.18.2010 PRELIM IDEAS 2/21-22:
The GFS/GEFS as well as the GGEM/GGENS continue to show the potential for several inches of wet snow arriving late Sunday night. We suspect that by mid-morning Monday, snow may mix with or change to rain across much of the Mid-Atlantic south of PA I-80. This is the current trend and we are watching closely to see if a high pressure cell comes into play, as this would significant alter the precip outcome.
