Notice that they were from former slave states shortly after the Civil War.
This shows you that regular people who made up the majority population in those states and who did NOT own slaves had no problem at all voting for black Republicans.

And then about 10 years after that zilch. They only had a chance as long as Federal troops were providing protection. Once they were gone the KKK and others pretty much killed any black running for office.
