Thanksgiving marks the start of holiday season for many, with millions of Americans planning on traveling in some capacity.

With the festive feast day coming up fast, WalletHub released its top cities to visit on Thanksgiving for those looking to travel to a new place this year.

The company compared the 100 largest U.S. cities in five categories: Thanksgiving celebrations and traditions; affordability; safety and accessibility; giving thanks; and weather forecasts.

San Francisco is #1!?!

Good grief. I spoke to my broker last week, who is based out of The City. I asked him if the things I see on the news is true or exaggerated. He said it is true and even much worse in some areas. He is still working from home in the east bay and flat out refuses to ride BART anymore, therefore, no shlepping into the office. He said it is pretty much a sewer anymore and completely unsafe to ride on due to the homeless, thugs and mentally ill.

I used to get a bit homesick but haven't been in quite some time. In fact, I haven't been to my mothership since 2014. I used to go every few years.

Same here. I used to travel back to Long Island 4-5 times a year to visit with my friends. Haven't been back since before the pandemic.

My last vacation there was 2012. 2014 was to bury my Grandfather. Not exactly a good time.

Yeah.... I have mom and dad's ashes here, and their wish was to have them spread on LI Sound, so have to get the troops together for that.

The wife lived in Greensboro for many years. I'll have to ask her why it's a big Turkey Day destination.

Same for me. I haven't been to San Diego since 2016. I used to go back at least once a year. I think I only have a couple of friends and a few acquaintances in San Diego. One more up near Shasta, and a fourth somewhere around Mendocino.
