For those of you who like to go fishing: Flounder Tips

Crow Bait

Folks,

Just wanted to pass along that the second meeting of the Coastal Conservation Association - Patuxent River Chapter - Will be held at Lenny's Restuarant (California, MD) on Wednesday, June 13th at 7pm.

The guest speaker, Keith McGuire, will give a presentation on trolling for flounder - using methods he learned from a local charter captain and perfected over the years. He will show you, start to finish, how to tie a flounder trolling rig and everything else you need to know to put flounder in your cooler! I know for a fact his method worked for him this week!

Also, there will be several raffle prizes and important announcements. Don't miss an opportunity to learn a new technique and meet other anglers from your area.

Please forward this info to all your friends!

They are bottom feeders but like a moving bait. That's why drifting for them is effective; on the bottom but still moving. I've caught them trolling and drifting as far north on the bay as Herring bay at Deale. Surprizing because they like to hang around steep, extreme drop offs and Harring bay doesn't really have that.

Well yeah, look at 'em. They don't exactly look like they go around chasing schools of bait fish do they? :lmao: They like it dragged right in front of their ugly faces or over their heads. Their eyes look up. Not really bottom feeders, they lay on the bottom camouflaged until something swims out in front or above them where they can see it.

True, bottom feeder might not be a good description but living on the bottom, in the bay, nothing can see very far.
