For your information---Radar

Just so you know whats happening. The county gets grant money to participate in an operation called Aggresive Driver,Smooth operator.
This grant money has to be folowed by aggressive ticketing. 234 and rt 5 has been alive with radar for this reason, The County Sherriffs Office and the Md. State police, is not going to lose out on this Grant because they need to write a few more tickets than usual.

Be aware, Be Careful, Stay around the speed limit and stop zig-zagging down the highway. When it comes between the police and their grant money plus more ticket money in the State and County coffers, John Q Citizen is the fish they are out to catch.

Aggressive radar is more like it! Passed a radar setup 235 north yesterday morning - state police had a couple people pulled over. Not more than 3/4 of a mile further up the road, St. Mary's finest had their radar going!!!

Everyone speeds here and there.. you cannot deny that though.

I saw them in Leonardtown yesterday at CPCU.. they had a few people stopped.. They shot me with a laser.. my radar detector picked that up. I was going the speed limit anyway.. I have to be good for umm.. I think about 353 more days until I'm off probation and at least 45 days until I'm off restriction.

On 07-24-2006 SDFC Michael D. Peacher was working the Aggressive Driver, Smooth Operator, Grant funded enforcement initiative ......

SDFC Peacher observed a suspected Controlled and Dangerous substance in plain view inside the vehicle, which was later identified as powder cocaine.

Sounds like a good use of the grant money to me!

1. If they hit you with laser, your radar detector warning was an afterthought.

2. You need to stay good from now on out.

I often hear people talking about how laser detectors are no good because by the time they go off you've already been nailed, but that's not the case. Cops are no better at steadily aiming a LIDAR gun than they are aiming a real gun, which tosses that laser all over the place. When I lived in Golden Beach and drove to the base each day, there were lots of times that my laser detector would go off around Mechanicsville Elementary School when the cops were using LIDAR down by the 7/11 and old Hostess store, and that was more than a mile away and they certainly weren't targeting me at the time. I saw the same thing happen when they would be using it at the drug store before Mechanicsville-Choptico RD on RT 235.
