Sounds like he may not have been able to afford the house from the beginning.

Funny- my daughter and I were discussing neighbors the other day and she mentioned "I'd hate to have Britney Spears as a neighbor". My response was "yeah, can you imagine trying to sell that house? the owner is probably stuck there."

Maybe he should wait by his mailbox because according to American Family Publishers' sweepstakes, he may already be a winner!!! :jameo:

You know?? Its a shame, but here is a man who has made good money in his time and obviously he wasnt looking out for his future. At 85 and with his infirmities he is a little old to be thrown out in the street, but who has he to blame but himself ?

Living high on the hog is great for those who can afford it. Keeping up with the Jones's when you cant afford it ,isnt a wise move.

He fell in to the trap of putting all his eggs in one basket (house). Real estate has ups and downs just like any other market. You'd think with the money he's earned over a lifetime he'd have a better nest egg. My grandmother just downsized to a "senior apartment" and has her house on the market, but she saved well enough that she'll be fine if it takes a while to sell. And she didn't earn anything close to Ed's money at Dart Drug. :nomoney:
