After hearing that the Republicans had swept the available governorships last Tuesday, I was waiting to hear how my "hometown" of Plum Borough (a suburb of Pittsburgh) did with their borough council elections. There were three seats in contention (out of a total of five - All Democrats), and Plum borough elections have always been a lock for the Dems.
Wow! The Republicans not only finally won a seat on the council but they won all three! This places them in-charge of the council for the first time in recorded history! Heck, I might have to run against Hoyer in 2004!
