I don't know if it's news, news, but I think it's well worth watching. What happened in the '70s has had such far-reaching affects on our entire culture, that it cannot be understated.

We are going to cover this story about Cosmopolitan magazine and how they exploited women for money using feminism and the sexual revolution.

I outgrew Cosmo around age 19. Read a story about how you are empowered and don't need a man, turn the page and read a story about how to please a man in bed so he won't cheat on you.

You can't believe any of those magazines - the fitness ones are the worst. Super faddy and everything is paid advertising including their "unbiased staff recommendations". The fashion pages are absurd - who spends that kind of money on a freaking purse? "Love yourself the way you are!" "Lose weight!" "Beauty comes from within!" "Get a nose job!"

Whenever one of my kids is tattling or trying to persuade me using "facts", I'm almost certain they're employing "propaganda".

Like lots of people - they don't intend to deceive - what they intend is to get their way, even if it means embellishing the truth (because they believe their own version of it). Fortunately, even as teenagers, their schemes are transparent. It's easy to see, because I know what they WANT before they make their argument. Since I know they want to "make brother or sister look bad" - I know what to look for.

I absolutely, automatically assume I'm being lied to or minimally being fed a very slanted version of the truth - from pretty much everyone. I trust my doctor and my dentist - mainly because lying to me doesn't help them. I trust my boss, because we're in the same boat, generally - lying to me HURTS him, because he depends on me.

But politicians lie, because it's their native tongue. I think what astonishes me most is they use the SAME lies, or they tell such head-scratching outlandish lies, you wonder what world they live in.

Magazines who refuse to write an article about the most intelligent, fashionable, and beautiful First lady we ever had because they don't like her husband. Magazines that call Lia Thomas or Richard Levine a woman and make a man woman of the year. You mean those magazines?
