St. Mary's Co. Forrest Center Hosting SkillsUSA Maryland Regional Competition on February 9, 2019

LEONARDTOWN, MD – The Dr. James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center (Forrest Center) will host the SkillsUSA Maryland Regional Competition on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the school site located at 24005 Point Lookout Road, directly across from the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown, Maryland.

Students from Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s County will be showcasing what they have learned in their career and technical education classes at the SkillsUSA Regional Competition. Multiple contests will be held to determine who will represent the Southern Maryland Region at the SkillsUSA State Competition in May. The public is invited to attend from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. to see the many talented students putting their real work skills to the test in these industry specific competitions. An awards ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. and refreshments will be available for purchase. All regional winners will advance to the state competition.
